Star Valley,
Wyoming,
located 35 miles south of Jackson Hole and within 100 miles
of Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, is the ultimate
playground for the outdoorsman with spectacular scenery.
Within Star Valley are the cities of Alpine, Etna, Thayne,
and Afton, to name a few, with Alpine being the fastest
growing community in Wyoming according to the US Census
Bureau. Star Valley is surrounded by three National Forests:
the Bridger-Teton National Forest,
the Targhee National Forest and the Caribou National Forest.
To top that, the Snake River, Salt River and Greys River
converge near the north end of the valley in Alpine to form
the Palisades Reservoir. Recreation on this 25 square mile
(16,100-acre) reservoir with 70 miles of shoreline includes
boating, jet skiing, and fishing. Each winter, the Wyoming
Elk Refuge outside Alpine is home to approximately 1,000
elk. Snowmobiling around the valley is the best to be found
with companies bringing in tourists from the
Jackson Hole
area to snowmobile in the local national forests. As you can
see, each season brings new adventures to Star Valley!
Jackson Hole,
Wyoming
is a very exceptional place in many ways. As part of the
largest intact ecosystem in the lower 48 states, our scenery
is spectacular and destined to stay that way. Less than 3%
of the land in Jackson Hole is privately owned. Teton County
consists of 3,826,407 acres of which 97% is designated
national forest lands, Jackson Hole Land Trust holdings and
national parks, assuring that our scenic corridors, abundant
streams, rivers and wildlife will remain protected in
perpetuity.
Located in northwestern
Wyoming,
Jackson Hole is a beautiful alpine valley surrounded by the
Teton Mountain Range in the west and the Gros Ventre
Mountains on the east. Jackson Hole is a wonderful place to
live and play throughout the year. The trout fishing,
skiing, mountain climbing, river rafting and wildlife
viewing are among the best to be found in
North America.
Our
area also offers championship mountain golf and tennis
opportunities, a superb Summer Music Festival, Fall Arts
Festival and many fine restaurants both rustic and refined
in style. Jackson Hole has a very diverse population of full
and part time residents with one common denominator all are
bonded with the land itself, in full appreciation of its
splendor.
